Start off with a small town, nurture, and turn it into a thriving, bustling city inhabited by happy residents.
Defend your town with a crew of unlikely heroes from enemy hordes bent on destroying it.
Build structures, farm crops, and equip your heroes with the strongest weapons and armor.
Adventure Town mixes everything that is proven, tried, and tested in game design. It is much like other farming and town-building games: you start off as a small speck in the game world, and your goal is to turn it into a thriving settlement. One thing that sets it apart is that instead of recruiting residents to build a large and imposing army, you will have a crew of heroes ready to defend your citizenry from invaders.
As soon as you open the game, you know what you’ll be doing: it first shows you your small town and two heroes who are tasked to defend it. A short tutorial will ensue, and you’ll face off in a scripted battle against a dragon. After which, you’re free to control their actions, whether you want them to tour the countryside and fight other monsters, or to bring them home on standby mode. Take note that defeating different monsters will give you much-needed loot, like items, gold, and the game’s premium currency, the red ruby. These can then be stored and be used later at your discretion.
To boost your town’s economy, you need to plant crops and farm. Seeds can be bought for a certain amount of gold, and once your crops are harvested, you can immediately sell them for more gold. Furthermore, the buildings you construct can produce materials which can also yield gold and experience. These include structures like the butcher, which produces meat, and the bakery, which produces bread.
Another element of the game is about arming and fitting your heroes with the best weapons and armor available. How strong they are, and the equipment they have available will determine the success or downfall of your little town. Not only will you need to buy their equipment, you will also need to look for raw materials which can enable you to craft them. Good examples include steel, which is needed to make a steel sword, and wood, which is a prerequisite to create a wooden shield.
Progressing and level up enables you to unlock more equipment, so it’s a good idea to save the loot in your inventory for later usage. That being said, your heroes can level up and scavenge materials from the monsters they defeat. However, the items you’ll pick up can be pretty random. No complaints here, but it would have been better to have the items be consistent with the monsters you beat.
Speaking of monsters, the combat system is relatively simple: tap on the monsters you want to attack, select the hero you want to attack with, and watch them battle. You wouldn’t have to press any buttons or do something else, since you can only watch the outcome on the screen. Certain weapons work better for other monsters, while others may not, and this will allow you to strategize correctly and learn which heroes to use and equipment to wear.
As you progress into the game, you will unlock more heroes that you can hire. The stronger the hero, the more you’ll have to pay to have them attack. Well hey, being a hero isn’t on a pro-bono basis, and they’ll be looking to spend some time on a tavern to recover after hard-fought battles!
So, should you play Adventure Town? Definitely: unlike other games in this genre, it’s not a blatant money-grab. You don’t have to pay to win, and is best enjoyed in short bursts. Though things can be a little more expensive as you get stronger, you can still progress decently. Adventure Town Описание
