RhythmStar is a captivating rhythm-based game that managed to impress us quite a bit because not only does it near flawlessly pull off the exceptional game that these games have always been renowned for but, on top of this, it also manages to implement a campaign mode into the mix that is actually quite fun to play. Overall, the game doesn’t disappoint no matter how you look at it so it’s definitely worth giving a shot to.

If you don’t have prior experience with games of this sort then you don’t need to worry because RhythmStar starts off with an extremely helpful tutorial sequence that does an excellent job of teaching players everything they need to know about the game. The tutorial sequence is fairly short so you’ll likely be able to complete it in mere minutes and, by the time it’s done, you’ll have a firm understanding of the game.

Onto the gameplay itself, RhythmStar is a game that you’ll feel right at home with if you’ve played similar rhythm based games before. The gameplay revolves around playing songs and, in order to play these songs, you’ll have to hit the notes of the songs at the correct timings. The gameplay might seem a little too simplistic on paper but, once you actually play the game, you’ll realize that this isn’t actually the case because you’ll have to manage multitudes of notes coming to you at the same time and it can definitely be a challenge to maintain a proper rhythm to hit all the notes at the right times.

As mentioned earlier, RhythmStar comes with a great campaign mode for players to enjoy and this is a great addition to the usual gameplay because it gives players a sense of purpose as they play through the game. The plot behind the campaign isn’t necessarily the most well thought out or in-depth plot but, nonetheless, it’s more than enough to keep you hooked from the beginning to the end. On top of the campaign, RhythmStar also features a challenge mode that’s sure to put your skills to the test because it’ll give you some really difficult tasks to complete.

RhythmStar features an anime-inspired art style that may not appeal to players at first but, when you actually get into the game and see the visuals firsthand, you’ll see that this art style actually works out quite nicely. Alongside this, the game also features some absolutely gorgeous special effects as well as a vibrant color palette that ties things together nicely.

RhythmStar is free to download and play but it offers its share of micro-transactions for players who want to acquire in-game bonuses in exchange for real world money.

All said and done, RhythmStar is an exciting rhythm based game that you can spend countless hours on without ever getting bored. RhythmStar Summary
