MIXMSTR: DJ Game is a mobile action rhythm game. In this game, you play as a DJ who has just moved to the city and wants to make it big in the business. But everyone has to start somewhere, and you will have to work your way to the top from mixing it up in small nightclubs and building up your fame! This game can be played offline at any place and time, without the need of an internet connection.
The mechanics of this game are not too complex for an action rhythm game. As a DJ, it is up to you to put the right mix of music on so that the people at the club can jam it out to their heart’s content. The key to playing the right music is to pay attention to what kind of people are in the crowd before you put in the record disc.
Before you enter a nightclub to begin a level, there are a few things that you should take note of, which is usually displayed on the “Event Details”. Here is where you can see the duration of the level, the type of people that will be there, as well as the chance of randomized characters appearing.
The crowd in a nightclub is usually categorized with 4 different colors, namely red, light blue, dark blue and yellow. This is important to take note of, as you will need to bring in the corresponding record discs to play. Each group of people will only dance to the music if the record disc of the same color is played in the nightclub. For instance, if there are people dressed in light blue and red in the club, you will need to play a red record disc in combination with a light blue one to get everyone to dance!
Once the crowd starts dancing, you will need to maintain their level of excitement by playing an action rhythm game. Time your beats perfectly when they reach the DJ stand and keep the energy going in the nightclub until the time is up! At the end of each level, your performance will be rated with a 3-star rating system, and the rewards are given based on how well you did.
Playing and beating a level will reward you with cash and fame points. You can use the cash you have earned at the record shop to buy a myriad of different music to add to your collection! Return to your home to customize your record bags and pick out the music that you fancy! Fame points, on the other hand, are vital to unlocking new nightclubs and progress even further in the story.
