Birds Town is a really exciting game because it bases itself around the concepts of a farming game but at the same time it has a lot of city builder elements implemented into it as well which is a really nice combination because the gameplay aspects of both genres synergize quite well with each other and make for a really enjoyable experience overall.
When you start off in Birds Town for the first time you’re given a small intro detailing how your society of birds was once happy and peaceful but was raided by the Bloodhound Cat gang and you must now rebuild it completely. After this you’re taken into a pretty well designed tutorial sequence that’ll explain all the crucial basics of the game that you need to know about as well as give some helpful tips that’ll help you later on in the game.
Going into the gameplay aspects, Birds Town at heart overall feels like a farming game. Upon playing the game for the first time, the first tasks you do are plating a few crops, harvesting fruit off trees. One of the really key things to note about this game is the fact that it always gives its players a great sense of direction. At any given time you always have at least two or three quests assigned to you and this makes sure that you always have something to do on your hands rather than remaining idle.
These quests also have quite a fair bit of rewards in terms of both experience and currency. In terms of variety, there are tons of different crops that you can plant, many different kinds of decorative options so you can amplify the overall look of your society and of course various different structures you can place that have benefits of their own. Going into the city builder parts of the gameplay, there are basically six different areas around the entire game world that are open for exploration. You start off in one of these and as you progress through the game you’ll have the option of expanding and building a branch of your society on these areas as well which is a pretty great thing to look forward to when playing the game.
As for visuals and graphics, Birds Town is a delight to look at. The main thing worth mentioning is that everything in the game ranging from the crops to the environments themselves are animated rather than being static images which makes the game feel a lot more lifelike overall. The color scheme is really bright and the textures are incredibly sharp.
Like most other games of its genre, there are many different micro-transactions in the game that you can go through. These micro-transactions allow you to get your hands on some rare kinds of crops and really cool decorative content.
