Managing a zoo or farm has never been easy but, at least with Hot Farm Africa, it remains fun. This game gives you control over your very own African zoo, with all the perks, challenges and processes that come with such an endeavor. It is yours to take care of, to grow and to transform into an establishment that earns you a considerable amount of income in the long run.
First, you will need to take care of your animals. Certain areas of the park house specific species of animals. At the beginning, you’ll take care of hippopotamuses and some monkeys. Because they are wild animals, you’ll need to attract them to your park. To do that, you will need to plant crops that are the animals’ sources of food. For monkeys, plant some bananas and some primates will come your way. For the hippos, plant apple trees and you’ll find your first hippo lumbering along.
You can house more animals by purchasing and developing certain areas of your farm. After your second task, you’ll have enough money to upgrade an empty land into a giraffe reservation. The more animals you have, the more guests that will come to your zoo/farm and earn you money.
Guests can be entertained at the common area, where they will wait for their turn to ride the boats that go around your safari. Each guest interested in a specific species so, as you progress into the game, make it a habit to check what the guests are interested in. The more diverse the guests that step into your boat, the more money you’ll earn from each of them.
Speaking of upgrading, you’ll be able to add establishments to your zoo or farm after your third mission. You can add a souvenir shop, which operates independently. The shop earns you $50 for each guest that buys a souvenir. However, not all of them will buy.
Another establishment that you can add is the refreshments bar. If you’ll look at your guests, you’ll find that they have a mood bar. This depletes over time as they wait their turn, or some come in with already foul moods to begin with. Simply give them a drink from the bar, and their mood will improve. Take note, the guests’ mood also affects their spending so you’ll want everyone to be in a good mood.
You can upgrade the boat as well to seat a maximum of four people. The more guests each batch can take, the more you can earn from each group and the faster you’ll reach your income goals for the level.
Because you’re taking care of animals, you have to provide for their needs as well. The animals go hungry from time to time, and you need to feed them or else they’ll walk away from the park. On the other hand, predators like hyenas and wild birds could come in and disrupt the park. Chase them away, or else the wild bird will eat the animals’ food while the hyena will drag off the animal that it is harassing.
