ABCmouse for Libraries: Bringing Quality Online Education to At-Risk Children
If there's a library near you that doesn't yet have ABCmouse for Libraries, put in a request and ask them to sign up! Most online education websites and companies have always been strong advocates for furthering the role online education can play in society (naturally), however, not many of them are willing to really go that extra mile... except for the Age of Learning.
Through their Age of Learning Education Access Initiative which is supported by multiple sponsors, they are providing the top-notch learning activities and materials available in ABCmouse.com to public libraries across the United States. Called the ABCmouse for Libraries, this program allows libraries to offer ABCmouse's quality online education (it's not at all whittled down "just because it's free") for children in at-risk areas, who usually have parents who couldn't afford such educational materials for their kids, at absolutely zero cost!
Since the launch of this initiative, ABCmouse is now available in over 7,000 libraries, regardless of their sizes, in basically every state in the US. That's a particularly impressive number considering that it is approximately 50% of all public library branches in the country! And even if you're picky and only want to include the larger library branches which is around 200 of them, you can find ABCmouse in more than 70% of these libraries, including all branches of the Los Angeles Public Library, New York Public Library, Chicago Public Library, and Houston Public Library.
So, if there's a library near you that doesn't yet have ABCmouse for Libraries, put in a request and ask them to sign up! It's free and it'll definitely benefit the children who need it the most!
